Planning For Preliminary Task

The basis of the preliminary task was to experiment with different shots, storyline and editing for our real thriller opening.

We had to show as many different shots as well could to show variety but should be a simple storyline, such as a man opening a door, crossing the room and introducing another character.

After shooting and began the editing process which we found some errors. We found we had strayed off the original storyboard which affected the flow of the storyline. We had a lot of difficulty in producing the shots we planned effectively such as the birds eye view shot and panning as it was jerky.
We also noticed we had crossed the 180 rule which is very important as it confused the viewer.

After looking over the footage we have learnt to keep the storyboard, keep shots simple but have a variety, keep continuity and don’t cross 180 line.
